Our full list of treatments include:

  • Examination: a thorough check of the teeth present, the health of the gums and measuring any pockets around the neck of the teeth. The soft tissues of the mouth are assessed for any signs of disease;
  • X rays: the practice uses digital x rays. These give approximately one tenth of the conventional doseand are visible instantly.
  • Hygienest: any hard deposits are carefully removed from the surfaces of the teeth either manually or with an ultrasonic instrument. They advise on diet, oral hygiene and recommend suitable products to use.
  • Teeth Whitening: a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of mild bleaching materials to lighten the colour of the teeth. At Cavendish Dental Clinic we offer two different types of whitening; an in-chair system called Zoom and an at home system using specially made trays and whitening gel.
  • Fillings: the practice is mercury free and the filling material that is used is tooth coloured using the latest porcelains, composites, giass ionomers and dental adhesives.
  • Root fillings: this is required when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected by decay or injury. Root canal treatment involves removing the nerve and sealing the root to prevent any further infection.
  • Extractions: these are carried out painlessly using the latest anaesthetic techniques.

  • Veneers:  a thin slice of porcelain that is made to precisely fit over the front of the tooth to correct colour or malposition.

  • Crowns:  a cover designed to restore a damaged tooth to its natural shape and strength.It can be made from porcelain,porcelain bonded to gold or ceramics.

  • Bridges:  a bridge fixes a replacement tooth or teeth to natural teeth on either side of the gap. Can be made from porcelain, porcelain bonded to gold or ceramics.

  • Implants:  these are a permanent and fixed solution to missing teeth. A titanium screw is positioned in the jaw bone to replace the tooth's natural root and when this has integrated a crown is placed onto the screw to replace the original tooth.

  • Dentures:  they remain a cost effective method of replacing missing teeth with a removable appliance which has an acceptable appearance.
